97 6.5T accelerates on it's own.

hi did you finally fix your 6.5? If yes can you please tell me what was the problem?
I have a 97 6.5 turbo pickup that sometimes acelerates on it's own while driving. It will take off , downshift anf acelerate fast, then go back to normal.
Sometimes it is repeated, then other times it may be fine for days.
Otherwise it runs great, has tons of power, starts easy.
Where do I look?
The PMD was replaced not to long ago by the previous owner, and it is on a heat sink now on the motor.
I am new to diesels.

It was the PMD . I replaced that one and the problem never happened again. Another thing the PMD has caused is making cruise control not work. This seems to be an early sign of a failing PMD. It has happened several times, Engine light comes on , codes show EGR problems and Cruise fails to work. Replace the PMD and all is good for months, then it repeats again.,
