Default OK ISSUES

I took the intake off and reattached the stock PMD and now my truck is starting easily, and idling perfect! In neutral I step on the pedal and she revs up and back down smoothly. BUT when I put it in drive and start down the road she stalls out! THEN she starts right back up again!!!! Bear in mind I have already replaced, aND BURNT OUT MY REMOTE PMD, so I reattached to the stock PMD and she is acting like I described. Even when I turned on the A/C she stalled out. IDEAS?

Sounds like you still need a PMD. The remote one, where did you get it ? PLease don't say eDam from ebay....The PMD's are all junk no matter where you mount them or what you do. Best thing to do is carry a spare. the Flight systems PMD (aka D Tech, Dipaco, WAP etc etc) are pure garbage. I have 3 dead ones and there is a known issue with them. The new grey standynes are supposed to be the lastest greatest but I have heard of a few of them failing already. Alweays buy a new one not a "good used tested one" and carry a spare cause it will fail . I have seen remote mount ones last 3 months and I have seen them last 5 yrs on the IP. It really is a crap shoot eveytime and everyone has different experiences. If you buy Heath's setup you'll pay but he warranty's it for 7 years NQA. Even one of his failed on one of mine but the new owner got a free replacement from Heath very quickly.

Hey guys, Thanks! I imagine you are right. The first thing I am going to do is to check the ground wires. Then I am going to replace the PMD and see what happens. I figure if I just need to keep A SPAIR with me I will. I am kind of thinking that the PMD is still the culprit, but then again the sullanoid (sp?) om the IP may be the reason for the PMD failure. I may just try to replace it too and see how long she goes befor she fries another PMD. Gotta love these motors!

To me it sounds like your starving for fuel, if it dies when driving (loading the engine) and revs freely in idle (no load on engine), check your lift pump and fuel filter.

Well, I replaced the lift pump about 5k miles ago, and the fuel filter has been changed at least 3 times in the last 500 miles. I have filled up at a different station to see if it was bad diesel even. I also hear the lift pump build pressure when I turn the motor off and when I bleed the fuel line it has plenty of pressure too. This has got to be something electrical, either at the fuel shut off, or the PMD or.... It is intermittent. I can fire her up one day and she runs like a scalded dog, but then after a while she drops me at the curb. I say she because she is like a woman; expensive as hell and unreliable! I am no mechanic, and the shops are just way too expensive for my wallet these days. So, I just have to try to figure it all out reading comments here. I would get rid of this truck in a heartbeat, but I just have too much into it to try to sell it.
