Default S-10 with 6.5TD??

I know there are kits out there to swap ia 350 gas engine into a Chevy S-10. And I also know that a 6.5TD will basically drop into a vehicle that has a 350. So could I in theory get a kit for a 350 swap and instead drop in a 6.5TD?? I'm thinking that would be pretty sweet. If anything, my old 2500 could spare its NV4500 but I don't know about the 14 bolt rear. I know a 6.5TD in a S-10 would be pretty quick, and the MPG's would be awesome. Advise is greatly appeciated.

A 6.5 will bolt where a 5.7 is. The only problem with a s-10 is the 6.5 is more the size and weight of a 7.4. You will probably have clearance problems and have to beef up the front end.
