I am looking into a 1982 suburban diesel 4x4 w/ 180,000. Is there anything that I should be leary of on the 6.2L or is it a good engine and does the mileage bother anybody for that motor. From what I understand they get about 18 mpg on the highway which sounds pretty good. I just need a truck to go on estimates and do small service calls with.

 

There not bad. There not the most powerful diesel. The mileage doesn't bother me. I have seen them get as high as the mid 20's on the high way.

 

if you think about tow with it not good

 

No towing just getting around and getting to smaller jobs, maybe just quads and small stuff for towing.
