Default Oil pressure gauge acting weird

I have a 94 chevy C3500HD, I just put a new oil pressure sender/switch on about a month ago. It never seemed right after it was installed. It doesn't bounce around but has what I can best describe as a tick in the gauge (it will move in a fast motion in either direction real quick then be fine for a while). The other thing it does is to react slow or not be in the right place depending on rpm. I have oil pressure and it is where it shoud be at any given rpm, it checked with a mechanical gauge. Is my brand new sender a piece of sh#t? Thanks
