Question Starter Issues

OK guys it s me again. For all the people helping me out i got my truck going. It was the ECM. Put it in and it fired right up all my dash lights come on and my glow plugs work the way they should and everything. I do have a light thats pops on from time to time but i think that is from the one vacum lines i brok and havent fixed yet. The reason i am writing today is a differnt issue. My truck was running great but went out to start it yesterday, turned the key to the start and all that happened was LP came on. So i figured that from all the problems i was having before and cranking it over so much i smoked the starter. I had another one so i put it on and the truck fired right up. Well i tested the starter i took off and it is fine there is nothing wrong with it. Well went out to start my truck this morning and same thing as yesterday nothing. I tested to see if i am getting all the power to the starter and i m getting over 12 volts. I m going to go out and clean my grounds all up again and go from there i guess. So if anyone has any advice let me know

have taken the batteries out and loads test them just because you see 12V doesn't mean it hole load like they should be also how did you test the starter if you just lay it on bench and put 12v to it doesn't mean it be good under load
