long black tube coming out of air intake

 

Does 96 have one because my 95 doesn't. I know they changed alot in 96 but it might just depend on what part of the year it came out.

Its on the tube running from the air box to the turbo.

 

comes straight out of the soft intake tube from the turbo and turns towards the fan, it is hard plastic.

 

it should unless it has been modified.

Been putting together pieces for my exhaust project...just picked up a 4" id resonator muffler that has never been used for $35 at a local salvage yard!

 

You don't have one but you do have the newer style wastegate. The only thing I can think of is you have one built right when they where changing things. Thats what I wasn't for sure of because in the middle of 96 they changed everything even the block.

 

Well things must have changed before then, because my 94 6.5 intake is the same setup as his, with the exception of the location of the wastegate, and mine hasnt been modified.
