I think you could be right. The only thing they might change is the spring diameter but I would say they just change the spring rate.

you could use a body lift but if you get in a crash bad things can happen like the frame stopping but the body keeps going. if you want to improve your turbos life just dont do any serious driving right before your about to shut it off. blowoff valve isnt needed at the boost a 6.5 makes

So I just happened to find a holset HX35W turbo at a junkyard, no shaft play and spins freely but still firm, looks like a wastegate is connected to the side with a tube going in near the holset badge....

It has a 4 bolt flange on the exhaust side....

is this a bolt on affair?

Is this worth hanging on to?

Does the exhaust housing go strait out the back or does it angle down?

From what I hear it is an easy bolt on.

The only problem I hear of with the hx35 on a 6.5 is that they are sluggish on the bottom.

Yea it is worth hanging on to. If anything it is better for making power than the turbo on the 6.5 stock.

it will work. its not a total bolt on though. you need a 4 inch downpipe which fabbing up to fit in between the engine and fender will be a chore but is possible. max with 4 inch pipe you will have 1/4 inch clearance in between pipe on both sides. slower spool up but a lot better top end power. but beware you need a functioning wastegate because they have the ability to spool to 50 psi. maybe not on a 6.5 but they will definetly blow the engine if not properly regulated.

Here's another question. What do you think about putting a second turbo just like the one already on the truck on it.

fab up some headers and you will have a sweet little custom truck. guy on another site is doing it. but he isnt going to be done for another year or two so dont know how its going to go.

Well I guess the exhaust points down, like any other turbo. Im not sure I want to go thru fabbing up pipes to put it on, also overboosting would suck, I may just hang onto it as a future replacement, or fab up something for another car.

mmm twin turbo sounds nice, haha

thanks for the info guys.

Talked to a friend to day and he is worried with 2 gm8 turbos it would not spool them up quick enough because you would be running each one on half the engine. I don't think that would be a problem because the turbo is way under size for the engine any way. And you wouldn't use it for more boost but more volume. One of these turbos just cant supply enough air to the engine and two of them would be able to.
