i am not very furmiliar with the 6.2s but i was told that they were made with the chevy 350 block if that is the case then the sm465 will bolt up to it. i think the only difference might be the flywheel and clutch size if anything and mabye the pilot bearing hole might be different in the crankshaft. as far as the t case goes i would say that you will probably have to get another transmission to t case adapter and it should work. those are just a few things i would check before spending too much time and money on it.

The 6.2 comes over to about a 373 ci. So it'll be a big block like the 454. On the transmission, if it came out of a 4x4, it'll work. If not, your going to need a longer output shaft.

well the transmission is out of a 2wd truck, the engine and the transfer case is out of a 4wd truck. So will the engine a transmission fit and will the transfer case fit on the transmission, or just one or the other? I'd rather have the adapters i need (if I need any) before i start tearing into this project and get stuck waitingfor a hard to find adapter to come.

the tranny output shaft most likely wont work for a 4x4. depending on what the t case is out of you might need a different adapter to the tranny. if it is a chevy bb it will mount up. i am just not sure about the clutch and pilot bearing but most likely it should work. it sounds like your getting into a big head ache of a project. im not trying to discourage you but i have had projects like that and it seems like everything goes wrong and they are just a pain.

also if money is not to tight you can order an atlas transfer case to fit your application and dump that chain drive case.

sm 465 to a np205 are not hard to find i even have one for sale but i do know for a gasser that a small block bell housing and a big block bell housing are the same i have heard that the bell housings are the same on a 6.2 to a gasser but i have never done the swap my self but if i were u i would just go with the 4x4 trans mission and not deal with the the sm465 are not really fun to take apart
