alright there is a good shop near by...but i can't get the engine light to come on it use to around when i first got it after it took a beating so should i have it scanned to look for past codes..? But before we jump to the conclusion of the injection pump where should all of these hoses for the vaccum system be? i found one that runs to the front of the motor but from what i can see its a stainless steel hose i have not seen any holes.

mine is underneath the alternator on the passenger side. that is where the vaccum hose leading from vaccum pump to the soleniod over on the drivers side on the back of the engine. if you have egr it will have three soleniods on a metal plate. one vaccum hose goes to turbo and another to the egr if you have one. there not stainless steel unless someone replaced them like me because i was too rough with it and i snapped the brittle 13 year old plastic.

you can buy the belt from Napa Part # 2506100 it will by pass the vacuum pump. That way you can throw the vacuum pump in the trash where it belongs.
