Default Not PMD Help

Same senario as most 6.5 runs fine but cant turn it off or it will not start. I have been driving it like this for a couple of months (ice on the PMD works to start it in just minutes)
I purchased the usual heat sink and relocated it in the bumper cut out, this did not work, truck still starts and runs fine (a little better as there seems to be no "chuggin" under heavy accell anymore) but when it gets hot it will not start.
I checked the lift pump and it is working fine, this means my OPS is working as well??
Anyone got some new ideas, I could have already purchased a new pump with all the ice $ Ive dished out, not to mention leaving my truck idle for hours at a time. HELP

You bought the heat sink, but did you use a new PMD?
Or did you relocate the one from the pump to the bumper nostril?
One of the members here lives in Nanaimo. Not sure where on the
rock you are, but maybe he can help you out. If not, I can recommend
another fellow in Nanaimo that has a shop down the road behind the
Mack Dealer. But it sounds to me like you may need to try another PMD.
One more question, does it ever crap out while driving? And do you
need to pull over and ice it to get it to restart?

The heat sink came with a new PMD original still on the IP.
It never stalled while driving, but if I turned it off it would not start.
Now when it is hot if I try to start it immediately after I turn it off it will start right up, if I let it sit for a few minutes it will turn over but not fire up.
I have replaced the fuel filter and tested both the lift pump and the fuel shut off sol., I purchased a new OPS but came up short trying to install it....it is pretty tight back there and skinned knuckles when you are already quite frustrated are not a good combo (kids learned a few new words yesterday)
I live just outside of Duncan (Cobble Hill) only about an hour from Nanimo.
I have scoured the area for diesel specific mechanics and have found none so far, I would appreciate the information on the garage you mentioned.

of your questions goes by the name Wyatt. He frequents
this site just about everyday and is local too you.

The shop I was talking about is Harbour City Diesel.
Malcolm is a great and more importantly an honest mechanic.
I haven't met his front counter man Mike yet but Malcolm
I've known for years and have no hesitations recommending

Well I figured it out the hard way.
It seems I had a starter for a non-turbo 6.5, when I burned it out & took it back to Canadian Tire, they were not going to honour the warranty because it was not the right one (I raised hell and they gave me the correct one for free). after installing it I noticed the difference right away (the turbo one spins twice as fast).
I am now able to drive and turn off my truck whenever I wish, what a concept......

Also, not to beat a dead horse, but it could also be your Lift pump. Your OPS might be burned out. While its running, open up the T valve and see if you have fuel coming out.
