After replacing the fuel sending unit and filter in a 2005 Chevy 3500, the vehicle may not start due to air in the fuel system, a damaged fuel pump, or other issues. The first step is to prime the fuel system by turning the ignition to the "on" position several times. If this doesn't work, check for air leaks in the fuel lines and ensure the fuel pump is functioning properly.
