im having some fuel guage issues..... i bought my truck from my couisn and when i bought it he told me not to let the tank get under 1/8th of a tank or it will run out.... he found this out the hard way haha well i did too but it has gone from 1/8th tank to 1/4 tank and i have no clue why..... on top of it since it ran out of fuel i had to change my fuel filter because it started running like **** and pulsating.... the new fuel filter fixed this but i still have no clue why the guage is not working correctly..... any idea's?

 

Fuel level sending unit. They are about $60 from the dealer.

 

My buddy had the same issue in his '00. Before he changed in 1/2 on the gauge was really empty. Not a terribly hard job if you remove the box. A big set of channel locks to unscrew the sending unit and it pops out, literally. If your looking to BOMB your truck, I suggest a Liberty fuel sending unit from Vulcan. New unit, and the ability to pull a lot of fuel out of the tank. Does your rig have any mods already?
