The little pump thing on the bottom left front of the motor as your facing it has started tapping on and off. When I put my hand on it I can fill the taps through it. Anyone know what it's called and what it does? This is a 95 turbo 6.5 with 321000 miles on it.

Sounds like your Vacuum pump, It controls the wastegate on your turbo. I can't recall if it controls anything else on your year. On my 1997 thats all it did, and I unbolted it and tossed it and went manual boost controller.

 

1500 or 2500 I know the 2500's have hydroboost braking and steering I don't know but the 1500's might need it for the brake booster if they have them?

 

Thanks, I figured it out and have all ready order one off ebay. Not sure how the manual one would work. Thanks to everyone who responds.
