99 Sub 1500 acceleration issues
Hey guys, my truck is idling good but as soon as it accelerates it blow black smoke and rpm's come up slow. I thought it was my leaky cross over pipe...changed it. vacuum pump was not sucking hard and knocking...changed it. Waste gate actuator operates and not has good press (can't move it by hand at idle). LP seems good. No rpm change when fuel bleeder open. Pumps out bleeder when open and ignition on (not running). Pmd changed a couple years ago and remote mounted only on top of manifold. Will scan codes later today when friend stops by. Do codes "lock" and I just need to clear them. Any advise on other things to check or things to look at with scanner. Will post codes when I read them. I'm sure this will help on whether it fuel or air. Thanks in advance
It is a F vin (no egr)

I'm getting a po236b code - turbo control. I cleared it and it has not come back. Could have been from leaking cross over pipe. Is it fair to say my soot trap may be plugged?
It seems to be getting worse (the last few short rides I've tried it). Thoughts?

Is your turbo working correctly? I think the turbo control code comes from the MAP sensor. Which could have been because the vacuum pump wasn't working. Could that have thrown it into limp mode?
If your soot trap was plugged, would be blowing black smoke like you are describing?
Have you checked or changed your air filter lately?
Hopefully this helps some.

Thanks for posting what you found to be wrong with it. May help someone in the future.
