Did you replace the brake switch when you changed out HB unit. I wasn't able to reuse mine and was Major PIA to remove.I had to cycle the pump quite a bit to prime the pump and get air out of HB. Then the front lines around the HB control box leaked which were PIA to make and install. The leaks were barely noticable. If you end up changing those lines save the nuts from the box as they don't sell them at MCParts store. Not saying this is your problem, just what happened to me when I recently went through this. Hope this helps.

It probably took 15 to twenty cycles stop to stop to get the steering, then when I used the brakes, they were soft cause the new HB found the weak spots in the lines. After that was taken care of, I ended up changing out the MC as the brakes were still lame. The leaks in the lines were small in the fact that it didn't spray everywhere.
