6.5L for first diesel?
Hi there, So I have been wanting a diesel and I came across a 95 Z71 6.5L and he wants it for dirt cheap. I have been doing some research and I've heard equally good and bad things about the 6.5l. I heard that they get decent MPG but there not the best in power. So what would someone how have dealt with 6.5l and tell me the pros and cons and weather or not there worthy of buying and investing money into it. Thank you for your time!

Parts are relatively cheap compared to newer diesels.
They are a light duty diesel engine compared to the medium duty Cummins and Duramax-they will never reach that sort of performance and were not intended to.
They were built as an economy engine, but if you try to work them hard the mileage is not great and they take longer to get the job done, but if you are patient and drive them within their ability you will get there eventually.
