That is good to know. I forgot to add, i switched The plug and wires around to see if the problem would move. no dice.

the only thing I didn't do is switch, the injectors around. I will try that next

I moved the injector, no change. I borrowed a diesel compression tester, from a very nice mechanic. I should get him some donuts.

I will post the numbers. They will be cold, do to me removing the valve cover. The Idiot PO got RTV over EVERYTHING, rockers, rods, springs. spent an hour cleaning it up. 2 hours getting there.

Where the heck is the edit button? if a mod could combine my three posts, into one that would be great.

The tester I had didn't work correctly. (didn't hold the reading.) My numbers are incorrect, but cold with a bad tester 285-325PSI, save for CYL #3 not even a 100PSI.

I going to pull the head, and have it tested.

Thank you for your help.

Found the problem, kinda. The piston hit the exhaust valve in CLY#3. How can that happen?

rocker spacer plastic brake and jam the rocker off the side of the valve holding it open?

rod bearings gone letting the piston ride higher in the bore?

I checked by having the CYL #3, complete the stroke and just starting to travel back down. There was a nice clunk when I pushed on the piston, with a wood stick. The piston moved down.

Not the wrist pins/bushings? Then crap.(can't use the words I would prefer, but maybe that is a good thing.)

The rockers are fine.
