Problems with adding turbo to 6.2?
I was just wondering what some problems I would have if I were to put a turbo on to my 6.2 chevy diesel. I have heard of cranks breaking in half and/or heads not doing the proper job I just need to know if this is true and if there are any other problems that might come up?

The blocks were never designed with enough bolts around the cylinder bores and head gasket sealing can be a problem because of that.
ARP head studs help.
Crankshafts do break but that is often because the drive pulley or harmonic balancer fails and the crank is forced to try and absorb all the harmonics.
Essentially the 6.2 and 6.5TD are the same engine with the 6.5 having a slightly bigger bore size,the 6.5TD has coated piston crowns for heat purposes as well.
Adding a turbo will help bring any weakness in an old engine to light more quickly than without a turbo,more power always comes at cost.
