Turbo problems?

Turbo problems?
So I've got an issue I think. I've got a factory stock turbo on my 12 valve. (Hx35) All stock except 4 inch straight pipe and slid fuel plate forward. My boost psi won't even touch 20 psi, and my egt's hit 1100 like nothing. I've got some shaft play but I'm not sure what's bad or good. Is it worth it to rebuild the stock turbo? Or to just buy a new one.

Waste gait?
I'm not positive on this but I did run into the same thing with my 95 12v and theirs a line coming from the back of the afc. It's rubber for a few inches and then steel or aluminum to the wg. I plugged mine with a fitting and was easily able to run up to 40#. Probably not the best way to go but somewhere on here is a how to on building an adjustable inline plug to manually adjust it.

Id personally suggest getting a new one especially if you want to and plan to add more power and fuel. Tons of options, I'm partial to bd's products since they have simple and cost effective kits for regular do it yourself guys that don't wanna break the bank or go super custom. Either the super b or killer b would suite your needs and probably final power expectations. And all the s300 bd turbos are the same price if I remember correct and include a new down pipe and everything to install it.

Yep
He's right I just put a super b on mine last weekend. Really easy to install if you read the instructions. 3 to 5 days from thoroughbred diesel for 1300 bucks and install took maybe an hour. With a #6 plate and stock springs and injectors it doesn't spool well low rpm but comes in like a banchie. 4" turbo back and comes with a dp and stretch clamp.
