Yeah I run 2cycle oil in both of my trucks 1 ounce per gallon it is kind of a good idea due to the fact that our IP's dont like low sulfur diesel I by penzoil synthetic 2 cycle by the gallon from my local parts store my 6.5 had a shut off soliniod issue earlier in the year since I have run oil in the fuel havent had any more issues

Mayhem do you also use a fuel additive or just the 2 stroke oil? i currently use a power service additive.

Bio-diesel eliminates the need for lubricity additive if available, antigel or fuel conditioner is still required in cold climates:
Note:only 0 ash marine 2 cycle oil should be used for a lubricity additive at a ratio of 1:200-the less dye the better also,it can cloud the optical sensor on electronic IP's
Lubricity additive study:

Racer, I know this is an old thread but thanks for posting that file. Has a similar test been done more recently? Supposedly fuel manufacturers have been increasing lubrocity for a few years now but I don't know how true that is.

I don't know of a more recent study?Google?

I doubt that anything is ever added to improve fuel unless mandated-we get lower quality accompanied by higher prices ,that's the only trend I have seen.

Damn right about that. I can't find OptiLube or FPPF anywhere around me. Guess I'll go back to the 2-stroke oil I've been using. Thanks.
