I agree, Jr. is not and has not ever been a dominate DRIVER. He has won races and has become famous 1 way and 1 way only.

want another example or more money than sense, Joe Nemechek, he has never done worth a crap, he is from here in Lakeland and everyone hates him, why?????, cause when he was racing at Auburndale he would cry foul everytime he got bumped, so they just started putting Joe in the wall, well his mommy and daddy wouldnt have anymore of that, so they bought him a superlate, then a busch car then put him in nascar.....and guess what, he SUCKS.....Joe Reuitemann's shop is about 25 miles north of where i live and he isnt much better but guess what, he has a nascar ride, why you ask, cause his mom and dad are rich and were shelling out the cash till Waltrip took over the team..........

Well, you know what they say.....

Opinions are like butts....we all have one, and some of them stink! Logan you have every right to NOT be a fan of Nascar, but for all of its quirks, I am still a huge fan, and will continue to be until it gives me reason NOT to be a fan anymore.

I do have to agree though with DD that your explanation of a REAL driver is where most of todays Nascar field came from. None of them just showed up at the race and jumped in a car. What you explain as the REAL drivers seem to never progress past their current racing careers. Kinda think the guy that makes it from carts, to dirt, to Busch, to Nascar just might be the REAL driver....again, another opinion!!

Well, I for one like Dale Jr. -- He's a decent driver and if his mommy had given him better rides, he would have won more races. All he wanted was what his father had built for him and his sister and family.. and something that he was a major part of -- he just wanted majority control, not the whole dang company...

so your pissed because he's the son of one of the greatest racers out there and he wants what was comming to him anyway??

IMO, his mom is an idiot for not giving up what he wanted or at least working with him on it... and then shafting him on the # and everything else -- believe me, there are more people that think she is a witch and in the wrong than think Jr. is in the wrong..

and who cares who he races for -- its not like Sr. and hendrick were swordsman dualing to the death -- they were racers in a business, and in business, you make the best business decision, and Hendrick was the best decision. If Dale sucks so bad and its all about his name, then why isn't Kerry Earnhardt racing in the Spring Cup???

most of the drivers today are good, they will never have the talent the older drivers do though.......75% of the drivers in the field today never had to build a winning cup car in a rickety old shop, or give up everything they had to make it, they didnt earn their rides like the older guys, the older guys beat around dirt tracks for several years before being discovered, its alot easier to get discovered when your parents put the dollars out front to show you off, sling a new body on the car when you skin the wall or buy you a new chassis every year to be competitive, most drivers cant afford that every week and year, now its just how quickly can we stick a kid in the car to attract more young people to make money......wether you admit it or not, NASCAR is 100% money driven or business' wouldnt pay several hundred thousand dollars to put their name down the side of people's cars.........come see the real face of NASCAR and racing and you will quickly learn......

Uh...ya, that is the business side of Nascar, and that is what is attracting the millions of fans worldwide. You cant possibly be serious that a real racer is one that is coming out of a rickety old shop...the sport has changed, and your views have been left in the dust buddy!! Nascar today is a marketing machine commanding millions of dollars in sponsorship PER CAR! This year may be the year that Nascar becomes bigger than the NFL in both live and televised viewers...Lot of misinformed people i guess....

Dale Jr. is my favorite as well, and if you truly knew all the history and followed it as closely as I have for over 10 years you wouldnt be offended if I told you that you have your head in your butt!! But since you dont, I wont tell you that!!

Teresa Earnhardt is the she-devil and she will likely see this year why she has made a terrible mistake, and keeping the #8...hell by march, no one will even remember who used to run it!!

88 in 08 boys is my prediction!!!

Business hell. 15 years ago I got my kid into racin quarter midgets when he was 5 years old. We were there to have fun and that was it, if he won that was just part of the fun. Didn't take us long to figure out the score. The competion at the 5 year old level was parents that had more money invested in the trailer to carry their cars then I did in my house. These people would pull up in a motor home pullin 30ft enclosed trailers with full tool sets, 2 and 3 cars to choose from for the different tracks, racks full of thousands of dollars worth of tires and a half dozen spare engines sittin in stands just in case. This would all be for one five year old kid. His car in the back of my pickup with some tools in a bucket and no spare parts just didn't even offer him much of a chance for even havin fun. I had around 5g invested and it didn't mean anything so we got out while we could.

So this aint just NASCAR and the big boys, this affects every level.
