my dad dont have a 4 wheeler and i told him he could have my 2002 if he wanted and i gave him the number for a guy that will tare it all down and give it some tlc , the snow plow was also damn near destroyed , i figure about $100 and a few hours of welding and it will be use able ..

so i was looking at the investment ... and i have been married 12 years today and was talking to my wife about a new quad and she told me to go buy one.... so i did, 2 hour later i was on the over grown trails i used to ride with my king quad before i trashed it
FIRE WOOD, SNOW, We don't have that down here BUT we do have mud & swamps, we do have fun with the ATV

OIC. Never thought of that. I've always rode solid rear axle quads.

how ever , try that with an IRS and the outer tire buckles under the quad and pitches you off the seat into the trees

i know from experiences

I load up the big tailor today its 4 feet wide and 8 feet long , i would say i was 2 times the suggested towing weight and i was going up a winding 45* hill , now my 2002 would of powered out , the Rancher just blew threw the rear tires and i had to put it in 4x4.

IRS has better traction but that can be good or bad , sometimes you want to kick the rear loose.

I also learned that gearing is a major factor the 2002 king quad has like 21 different combination and with the IRS i could put it in super low Diff lock and pull backwards quads with twice the CC, pretty impressive!

ive had my new rancher to 48 MPH , from the videos ive seen its rev limited to 55MPH , for about $400 i can get a pipe and tuner for it , but i think its fine the way it is , would rather ditch the factory rims before i do anything ....well first thing is to pay it off , my goal is 2 years
yeah with the straight axle it's way better i got a 400 yamaha big bear and i can spin it around corners all day tried it with my dad's 650 rincon IRS almost ended bad...

and about the tuner and pipe GET IT my buddy has a 420 rancher and he bought the optimizer and the HMF pipe and he can keep up with dad's 650 rincon and that thing hit 60 before the wheels and tires

put the warn 2500# winch on today nice fit looks like it belongs on there , took me all damn day to put it on , what with being real careful with all the newness ,

i extended the red (switch wire) to behind the battery and posi-tapped into the ING fuse wire

winch works pretty slick , i was pulling a log off the trail and got it caught between 2 trees , it was about a 7" tree 1/2 dead , i kept cranking on the winch thinking i could just break the tree but it drug me towards the tree

I wish my 2003 SUZUKI VINSON 500 4X4 had power steering

I was waiting to read "then the tree fell down on top of me." Then you'd be building a roll cage.

I don't get the anti-independent rear suspension thing. I ride a Can Am Outlander 800. It has independent rear and it's a 4X4. It has a 2" lift and 28" Outlaw mud tires on it and I can drift a corner like it's nothing. I just goose the throttle and kick it it slides just fine. Never has tried to roll on me.
