EasyTether is only $10 and works great. If I have a good 3g signal its faster than my DSL @ home.

You can use Pdanet or EasyTether without having a rooted phone.

 

Got me Droid this afternoon after I found out I didn't have to pay a $400 deposit. Cool *** phone, with so much to play with. They tried to tell me I couldn't tether w/ out paying out the ***.

 

PDAnet is free for the first like 20 days. After that it will not load https. web sites. If yall root your phones it will blow your mine what this phone is capable of! I rooted mine in android 2.1 then loaded a froyo2.2 rom. I now have flashplayer in the browser, usb tether, wifi tether(both tethers are part of the phone with apk.files they arent market apps. Apps you need:

1)TiKL -touch to talk > this is a app that turns your phone into a 2way just like Nextel, its free and works with any android device on any carrier.

2)Handcent SMS > way better than the stock messaging

3)Google Earth > same as the PC version

4)Bump > transfers any file from phone to phone just by bumping them together

5) Google Sky Map > knows where your at and where every planet, star, and anything else in the sky is

6)AppBrain > Go to AppBrain.com and register then download the appbrain and Fast web installer apps from the market. You can send the apps from the website straight to your phone

7)Shazam > Listens and shows you what song your listening to

8)ShopSavvy > Bar code scanner, will scan any bar code and tell you where to find the product cheaper, it will even scan a barcode on the computer and install whatever file the code is for
