Hey Dana, it's your life!
Enjoy it!
Take and add a picture to every goal!
End of the world? Who cares about that?
You can make it to the center of the world!
I would love to have real north decoration on the wall that I bought alone at the original places like those wooden snow shoes for example. And no, I wouldn't have a fur of a bear in front of my open fire, but maybe it would try to get one of those cool fur hats with a tail.
Maybe your family is jealous? You get the chance to explore others places and people.
That's a gift to expand your personal horizon.
You will see places others never will see in their life and I'm not talking about pipelines.

I have a good smile right now, because I recognized that I'm also far away- more than 5000miles, does it matter- no it doesn't.
But to be honest I would spend my time preferable in Alaska than in Germany.
There will be some limitations like snowstorms. Cool! Describe how it is to survive a white-out! You will gain a lot of first hand experience. Which is of value to all those who want to do a trip to this area.
There is a community, too- they will take care of you two!
Michael

this is so true... It's funny, it's like everyone just forgets every year what winter is.

bosslady You've got the right attitude. Look forward to all of the positive things and you will enjoy it. The minute you let the cold and snow get to you is game over.

Always wanted to get stationed in alaska, it seems like the CG sends the people that dont want to go. Except my boss he just got orders to a cutter up there and he is stoked he just bought a new rifle.

you will get sick of snow quicker then you think. on the plus side when you come back home you will be one of the few in your neighborhood that will be able to drink a beer and do 50 in 6 inches of snow and not even think about it and ice fishing isn't that great. its fun for about an hour then it get old. but hey have fun and good luck. i always say "i'll try anything at least once".....

I think they shut down all the LORAN stations up there. That really sucks cuz that was an easy gig for those guys and all of them I met up there chose to go.

we have chosen to drive allll because of these 2 furry critters of mine.... I really wanted to fly...gonna take us almost 7 days to get there... flying.. would only take us 11 hours..... which would be kick ***!! the animals on the plane would cost and extra 100 dollars apiece...so i guess im just gonna chunk it up to be a very long road trip... Maybe i wont be single by the time i get to alaska

he says i tell him how to drive...and i say if you drive the way i tell you to ill shut up

Im gonna need to buy some motion sickness tablets

we are allowing them to move us, which is fine by me... i dont really wanna pull a trailor. besides we have other stuff to worry about

just thought id update yall a little bit

Think about taking pictures of the way up there and take extra batteries for the camera along with you.

plenty of food and drinking supply for you and the truck and you are almost there...
