Alright thanks for the advice everyone. I called out to Omaha and informed them of the situtation and they had my shift foreman reinspected the truck to make sure it was DOT legal. Unfortunetly there's no way to prove who put my # in for the inspection but I have an idea of who it was. Either way I'm still super pissed about it. I dont believe in messing around with stuff like that.

i have went through this at ranger boats when i was there. id say somethin they would over look it and send it out. cracked brakes, smear some oil on it and send it out. well the dot got called by a driver who got fired (he deserved it) and started goin through paper work. they put every one of our trucks out of comension, untill the dot guy inspected them. swapped out 30 sets of brakes. the lead man got threatened very harshly with $200,000+ in fines. ended up getting transfered out of the truck shop, working on olny yard tractors. then supervisor got demoted and ended up getting fired. ranger was fined, and are watched heavily now to make sure they are compliant with the laws. u done the right thing man.

Great example Biged. Also remember with the amount of weight these drivers haul, some in excess of 100,000#,if there is an accident, the dot will go over the truck and trailer with a fine tooth comb.Looking for anything and everything. And if they haul hazardous material,it's worse.
