at the price most people are asking for a 98 12v in reasonable condition, I wonder if you'd be better off in the long run by looking for a steep bargain on a 3rd gen...not trying to talk you out of a 2nd, cause I'm partial to them but...for drivable playability the CR's are just bad!!

6 grand would be a sweet deal on a 98 12v, definitely jump on that! I was just thinking you'd be looking in the $10-14k range but 6k works!!

yeah its a 98 ext cab long bed dually 4x4 rebuilt trans keyless entry and full power. pump is alredy turned up a lil bit. the only 2 things wrong is there is a shift selinoid in the trans that needs replaced and it has 225k miles. but its a cummins. the body will fall apart arounfd the engine and they'll keep going forever

I'm really not sold on the "body will fall apart around the engine" thing after owning a 1st and 2nd gen and my immediate family owning at least one of every generation dodge. on the 2nd gen, you're going to want to upgrade the snot out of the front steering/suspension and will probably have a few issues with A/C doors/vacuum motors, should put the headlights on relay switches and get higher watt bulbs. but I did horrible things to my 96 for 100k miles and it was a fantastic truck.

my dad's still running his 91 CC/11ft utility bed that he bought brand new, it's got about 350k of abuse on it and is still in great shape.

the trans solenoids are EASY to get to, pull oil pan and they're right there on the valve body.

true ture. but it all depends on the weather you have(im in ohio near cleveland) so trucks round here will fall apart if they donnt get washed or have a good wax on them.

but yeah thats what the guy told me but the selinoid. i just gott do it.
