I got my associates Degree in Diesel Tech. I just worked in a truck shop threw college. I hated working under trucks when they were dripping ice water on me all night. Other then that it was ok. Never planned on doing it for a living but I do save a lot of money by working on my own equipment.

Thanks guys! I worked my way up sailing for 12 years to get that license and title - been a Merchant Marine and sailing for 18+ years.

Just for the record my U.S. Coast Guard License reads Unlimited Horsepower Chief Engineer of Steam, Motor (Diesel), and Gas Turbine Vessels.

I saw elsewhere on DB we've got a new guy (Master Chief?) retired from the Navy.... Now that guy deserves some respect.

Im a mechanic at FedEx its not always wrenching on a diesel engine, my actual title is Fleet Maintenance Tech, which is what we do...if it is in the fleet we work on it, trucks, trailers, forklifts, company vehicles. Like stated above there aint nothin worse than having dirty ice water drip on your head during the winter but i get paid perty good so i can only complain so much
