its 3-9x24 and at 100yds its dead on but im looking for a scope that will let me reach out and touch something around 300yds or more. i also have a tasco scope thats 10-40x 50 its just hard to see through sometimes and hard to focus. and both are bad in low light. so im looking for more magnification mainly, a wider field of view and something that does better in low light.

HI DIESELDENT, A 3-9 power range is good for a 300 yard shot. Remember everytime you go up in power, your scope will increase, any movement, mirage, and your scope gets dimmer.

The last few years I have bought 4 or 5 Nikon's. Have been Very Please with them, The price is decent and they also have a lifetime warranty. Mostly I use Leupold or Zeiss. But bang for the Buck the Nikons are Good.

You get what you pay for in optics. High magnification decreases light transmission. So to counter that you need extra large objective lenses. You want a scope with fully multi coated lenses. Just fork over the most you can in any of the major brands and you'll be happy.

It's always come down to HOW MUCH you want to spend, Since it's your money, you're the one that has to make up your mind, how much to spend.
