I just bought a Bushnell 4200 elite for my new remmington BDL 7mm. It is just as good as any Leupold and will take a beating.

My first thought is always Leopold, but as stated above, they can be more expensive than the rifle you're putting them on, so I too will recommend the Bushnell 4200 series. Bushnell has come a LONG way over the years. Especially since buying Bausch & Lomb. You get a lot of scope without shelling the huge dollars. I have a Bushnell on my Savage 10ML-II Smokeless powder muzzle loader. It has as much recoil as my .300 Weatherby (with a Leopold) and the scope has performed flawlessly for some 200 shots.

HI atrd86, Yes you are right, the 4200 is an excellent scope, to bad that 4-16x40 4200 cost more than $429 !!!! I say spend about $119 and buy a millett 3-12x44 !! FOR THE MONEY, THE MILLETT CAN'T BE BEAT !!!:ok1:

It has a Simmons Whitetail on it now. Any reason for wanting to switch? Are you looking for more magnification, wider field of view, lighter weight, etc? What power is the one you have now? Is it the Classic series or the Expedition series? I could recommend dozens of scopes but until I know what you're wanting it's purely one dimensional. ---AutoMerged DoublePost---

HI DieselMinded, LEUPOLD are a great scope, but it will cost more than his SAVAGE rifle !! I don't think he wants to spend that much money, I say buy a MILLETT, excellent for the money.

That scope has a lifetime warranty and for the money is hard to beat.
