Many thanks to Tracy and Ron for checking out my house. I owe you guys. Please keep me posted. I will head back to houston as soon as power is restored. Let's go get a beer when things get back to normal.

Check out this slide show.

Well, I finally have electricity. Apparently a tree a couple of blocks up had fallen on the power lines and took a pole and transformer to the ground. I drove by yesterday and the street was still blocked off so the crews could get the mess cleaned up. That probably had to do with the transformer at the end of my block blowing up. When I left for work yesterday, they were working on the one on my street. It was a welcome site to see the street lights on this morning. Other than a bunch of small branches and lots of pine cones all over the yard, I didn't have any damage here.
My neighbor down the street must be living right though. They had a pine tree that was probably 70 feet tall fall on the corner of their house. It did some damage to the corner, but the rest of the tree hardly even made contact. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow when I get home. They were VERY lucky.
Glad to hear everybody else is doing good.

Here's a pic of my neighbor's house. Talk about lucky...

Hey it was no problem, glad I could do it. I hope they get your power restored soon so you can get back home. The gas lines are still long I wish the gas stations had more stand alone diesel pumps, so you dont have to wait in a 2 hour long line. Yeah we will have to get a beer when things get normal again.

Wow if things could not get any worse they have a Lion holed up in a church and a Tiger loose on the island and he's hungry.

County judge says tiger loose

I'm alive. No power, no phone, small leak in the roof, and some big tree limbs down. We count ourselves pretty lucky after driving around our area and seeing the damage. I had to work this week. My building is next to the Chase tower with all of the windows out. When I get internet back at my house I will upload the pics and videos. Until then, I will be scarce. Rttoys can update you on the stupid things I am doing.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary on Wednesday...at Lubys There aren't many places open. We celebrated my birthday last night by driving further and finding some mexican place that had power. Certainly won't forget this.

Does anyone know what 2-11 beer is???

Glad you are doing good and not to much damage. Looks like most of the far NW past 1960 is getting back to normal, Gas and grocery stores anyway.

Cant say I know what 2-11 beer is.

Glad to hear you made it through ok. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.
I'm going to take a wild guess about 2-11 beer. Was it something the Southland Corp. marketed in their early days before they grew up and became 7-11 and U-Totem?
