---AutoMerged DoublePost---

can you see,, let me explain i have 4 more pics but there not downloading i think its cause my battery is charging ill add them later.. theres a pipe that runs from the top of the property down the edge. and we have to fill a 500 gal tank at the top to feed the water into the well. Now is this well ground fed? and when we put water in does it just sink into the ground around the well?

Sorry Jenn but the pix are too small for me to deal with (no I don't need glasses).

If you can make them bigger I may be able to offer a few comments.

Thanks

D.

I am not sure I understand all of the photos. I can't figure out the pictures either... but if the 500 gallon tank is on the high side (uphill) of the property, that might be the cistern that feeds the house.

Maybe, the well pumps the water from the well in the basement (or wherever that is) to the cistern (500g tank) and holds it until you use water in the house. If that is the case, the cistern will have limiter switches (a float inside the tank) to turn the pump on and off as the water gets low.

Do you only have water when you fill the 500 gallon tank? Your well may be dry, your pump may be out, circuit breaker may be tripped or the limiter switches aren't functioning properly.

It's time to call the landlord ... to get them to help figure it out, if nothing else to explain how it operates.

Wyatt,

To enlarge the pictures, press and hold down the CTRL key and the "+" (plus) keep... do this until the picture gets larger to see. To shrink it back, press and hold the CTRL key and then the "-" (minus) key.

Jenn,

The floats would look kinda like the bit in your toilet tank that operates the "flush" part. Water rises to a point and the pump would shut off.

If I'm understanding this scenario right, then what is happening here is that you have a well that feeds a storage tank that is placed uphill from the home and from there feeds the home with water. If this is the case then you probably have a shallow well pump that is under powered to pull the distance of the water to the faucet. To compensate for not spending the money on a deepwell pump they are using the holding tank much like a water tower to add pressure. The weight of the water pushing itself down hill is what gives you water pressure at the faucet.

This does mean that in this tank you should have a sender unit just like in the fuel tank of a truck that tells the fluid level. Except in this case instead of telling you it is tripping the switch to turn the well pump on and off.

Although this works, it's a $20 solution to a $10 problem. Way to complicated and to many unneeded factors here.

My biggest concern here though is the location of your septic in relation to your well. The way I'm understanding your setup here it sounds like you really need to have your water tested cause I'm not gettin a good feeling about it. I don't really want to tell you my suspicions yet but it ain't good.

What !!! gross....i dont know where the septic is,, the owners comeing tonight we will get some answers then.. why is its so confussing.doesnt the water come from the well theres a line that goes in to it... argh i have no clue.....find out and keep you all updated..

Ok just found out, that the septic tank is beside the house, to the left of me, which really makes no difference to you all. and the water has been tested...theres a creek that runs beside the well about 20 ft from oit or more,, i havent seeen it but i ll go explore the bush tommarow. so thats where the watercomes from and when the creek goes down like now, it has been known to run out if its over used,, so yea we over used,, no more washing the drive way..watering plants and doing laundry, bathing etc.. all that has to be schedualed...... The guy Ownere bro..had no idea about how to even get into storage, we played stupid and never told him we got in there,, now we will get a key from the PM and we can use the extra storage,, its more like a house down there,1000sq ft, Dev will be stoked,, he can set up his drums and they can play guitars,,oh boy maybe not such a good idea.. ,whoo hoo, my kids will have some space. of there own away from the little ones..!
