Default DT 466 issues

I posted this in another area but this seems to be the more appropriate spot. I have purchased 3 International 4900's plow trucks. These are previous Iowa State DOT trucks. Set up nicely form the work i do with them. All three have 11' front plows, 11' wings, And 8' under body scrapers. Two of the trucks are used as salt shakers as well. The issue that has come up is on the 93' truck, has no power behind it any more. It ate 3 injectors last year, i replaced all 6. This season the truck has showed the same conditions as last but runs as smooth as you could want. It pushes a lot of black smoke and burns twice as much fuel as the other trucks but no residue or smell of fuel coming out of the exhaust as when it lost the injectors. I replaced the inter-cooler last week, had a few pin ****** in it and couldn't be repaired. Did a complete service, all filters including air, and that didn't help either. I took the truck out with no plows on and it would not get over 25 mph. Pulled the air intake off the turbo and ran it that way and it took off great. Climbed right up to 65. Running the truck with no air filter in it now. and it goes well, still could use more power when pushing the wet snow. I could use some thoughts on this, on borrowed time running with out an air filter with the stuff we put on the roads in Mass.

You already found your problem. I would get a new air filter on it so then it's clean and it should run just fine. But that's why you were getting smoke is cause not enough air so the filter was probably plugged pretty good.

I wont rule out that the filter was bad but the filter in it only had 10 hrs on it before i pulled it out. Not out of the question that it did get contaminated but it still looks brand new. Monday I'll get the new filter in and give it a run. See what comes up. Thanks for the input. Appreciated

The inlet piping in the hood may be plugged, not only the filter. Getting more power on the 93 & 95 is just as easy as sliding the fuel plate the same way you would do a 94-98 Dodge. Killing the injectors is really not very common. Only thing I can think of that can ruin multiple injectors, is water in the system.
