I just bought a pair of Kenwood 6x9's (KFC-6982IE) apparently there supposed to be 5 way speakers and got pretty good reviews but I wanna know if anyone on here has an personal experiences with them? Plus ive been hearing that I might need to make up some spacers cause some 6x9's are to deep is this true? thanks guys

I've never heard of 5 way speakers, looks like they will hit every Hz! The 6x9's in the doors are pretty big, at least with the infinity system. I put some after-market infinitys in with no problem.

The mounting depth of my Infinitys is the same as your Kenwoods, you should be set. Both are 3 1/16" mounting depth. You may have an issue with the protrusion of the 4 way block, it will make contact with the door interior, more than likely.

Don't go by peak numbers, they are only what they are:"peaks"!
Nobody knows how long that peak is: a nano second( a billionth of a second?) 0.000000001s.The manufacture usually uses these numbers to pimp the numbers a bit.
For that reason the only value which can tell you anything about power handling abilities is the true rms value.
Do not assume a lot of "ways" result automatically in better sound. You would be amazed how easy a good 2-way speaker system can outperform a x-way system.
Have you had a chance to "compare " your speakers in advance with other speakers??
