Default underseat subs

this may be very far fetched but in my mind wandering i got to be thinking of a way to put subs in the truck that don't take up much space, but are still noticeable sound wise. Then i got to be thinking of two things:
one: under the rear seat there is nothing but cloth with nothing above it for...i'm not sure how many inches. could a custom box be made, the fabric layed over the face of the box with the holes for the subs to face out the bottom of the seat, and subs stuffed into there? i realize this would be hard, and airspace could be an issue, but i was wondering if it was possible. Then your subs would fire down out of the bottom of the rear seat, and face forward when you fold the seat up.
Second: i was thinking how hard could it be to get custom made seats that are like the rear seat, minus the middle part (I suppose this would make them bucket seats, just not real fancy ones). They would need a bracket for the inside to mount on, and could bolt to factory location on outsides (closest to doors). this would leave all that room where the middle of the bench seat used to take up, for subs or whatever you can think of. Would this be something doable? i realize these may both sound EXTREMELY far fetched, but i may as well ask instead of letting a idea go to waste right?

i suggest doing it all your self unless you cant do upholstery. take some work but its a manageable job. frame, padding upholstry, fiber glass and paint.

It is easier to take out your front center console, make a box to hold one down facing 12' sub. if measured correctly it will bolt right in. Now take apart your center console and bolt it to the box you made it will look factory. We have done this on 4 Dodges sounds good and does not take any space.

would you happen to have any pics of this?? i was looking at doing that and i think i could possibly do it, but would it vibrate the front seats so bad it would be uncomfortable to ride in?

you could build a box under the rear seat but you would have to use slim subs. i built a box for to put my cvr 12s in the back but i am also building a custom rear seat/bed set-up.

the center console idea is probaly best

i'm not talking under the seat....i'm taking in the bottom portion of the seat, but part of the actual seat. there is a empty area on the underside of the rear seat that just has cloth covering it. i was wondering if anyone has done it or knows if it would work or not before i go off chopping out fabric. this is the choice i would prefer, but its the matter of airspace and do-ability.

Dodge Ram Stealthbox by JL Audio

Link shows a center seat replacement very similar to the one everyone is telling you to build, but this one is pre-made and ready to rock. They sound pretty good too!

i would rather build it and save the money, but thanks for the link!. i'm not sure if you all understand what i mean by under seat. i don't want it to be seperate from the rear seat. i'm talking part of the seat. any of you with a second gen, flip up your rear seat and feel around. you'll notice that the center is empty, just cloth covers it. I am talking of cutting that cloth out, building a box that fits in there, carpeting over it, and having the speakers down fire out of the seat. so the box would actually be part of the seat, and the speakers would be the only thing that is hanigng out the bottom, and it would only be the face of the sub anyway. then you would still have room under your seat, you might want to get some cover grills to protect the sub, but it would be IN the seat itself.

I know what you mean, but I haven't built one. I would be interested to try it but, I think the main problem you will have is getting enough air space for the sub. What size of sub are you planing on using?
