I doubt I will get an amp, but I definitely want to get rear speakers.
This is the stereo I bought: JVC El-Kameleon Multimedia MP3 CD Car Deck (KD-AVX44)
I like it and it sounds very good even with stock speakers.

I've got Xplod's all the way around in my rig. 6x9s in the front doors and 5 1/4s in the back doors. Not very pricy but still produces a good quality sound.

Sweet head unit, I used to have it's predecessor in the past. I recently upgraded to the JVC-KDNX5000 - totally awesome HU. Good luck on your speaker choices.

I'm going to hijack this thread for a bit. In my front doors I have some Polk Audio Component speakers. The main is (I think) either 6 or 6.5 (with a real fancy plywood cutout to fill the 6X9 space) and the tweeter is 1"(more or less) and mounted high on the door just ahead of the door switches. For the record I didn't put these on the PO did.

It seems that the crossover in my driverside door is going kaputz. I kept turning up the volume on my head unit(thinking I was going deaf) before I realized the woofer in the door quite working, or as I later found out, there is no bass coming out of it. Not like the other speakers. It is pretty high pitched. Which leads me to think the crossover is goofy. I took it out to see if there is any adjustment but there doesn't seem to be.(I believe its a Polk SE model)

Do crossovers do this? and can I replace just the crossover or shall I just replace the entire set? For the record I don't know how old they are or how much power they handle but they sound ok with the standard 50w HU.

Maybe drop Polk Audio an e-mail and see if they can fix or have an equivelant replacement.

Polk Audio! The best sound for home, car and marine
