I have a 2000 f250 7.3 with the 4r100 trans 159k on truck. Truck is bone stoxk and as far as I know trans is original. The trans issue is that is skipd 4th gear right into o/d. Sometimes is slightly grabs 4th than od others it loads rpms in 3rd than right to o/d. My edge I has in my 01 would sometimes make my trans do this but like I said this truck ia all stock. Any ideas? Shift selenoid? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

 

well first off, 4th is O/D. hints 4r100. the 5r100 is a 5 speed. i don't know a whole lot about trans. but maybe a clutch pack is going out?

 

Hey, thanks for the reply. Hmmm I guess I was thinking its a 4spd +od?...ya...idiot . Anyway maybe a t/c issue? I think that is the lockup point maybe? About 40mph? I guess let me re phrase now that ive been educated, seems like it is not locking up towards the top of 3rd, tries, then shifts to 4th... Make any sense?

 

Shift stradigy is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, TC lock and OD...

 

What would cause this no lock up condition? Im not much of an auto trans guy...
