Default Good deal?

So, this is the truck i drove today. Intercooled 91 dually. Loved it, but not sure i can live w/a 1st gen reg cab as they dont have much legroom. Anyway, 130k miles, a/c blows cold, power mirrors, power locks, power windows, body is good other than 2 small dents i saw, paint is crap. Truck drove like new, has good brakes, really good power for a 1st gen. Interior is VERY nice.

In the last year it has gotten new brakes, alternator, and water pump.

Needs valve cover gaskets, there is a small amount of oil around a couple of em.

They are asking $4k, think i can get it for $3500.

So, whadda y'all think? I know its a pretty good deal, i might just buy it.

Question for the first gen guys, do they make a seat w/a thinner back so i can get more legroom outta this thing?

well... the interior is pretty clean. miles are perfect. it's a stick and the price is pretty good.

but is it wut u want. look at it like this. u can walk down the street and pick up a dog turd out of the neighbor's yard. ur gonna get a really good deal on it but do u really want to bring it home or should u wait till wut u really want comes along??

then again, i've been drinking since 6 so this might only sound logical to me.

The truck i really want is a '93 xcab dually 4x4. Guy dont wanna sell it, says its hard to find a good old cummins. I may be able to trade him the truck plus money for the one he's got. I probably wont buy it to drive because i just cant get over the legroom thing.

i would offer the guy $3000 sounds low ball i know.
but when you settle on $3500 he feels like he worked you up and he got a good deal.

i would buy it an resell it for 5000 or as much as you can get in your area.

take the money then and get what you want

Was thinkin bout that, but, ill lose a lot of money for taxes and title. Where i live, dont matter if you pay $1 for the truck, you pay taxes on what they say its worth. If i buy it, ill spend at least $800, then itll need paint to really make a profit, so there's another $800 for a half a$$ paint job. Not really enuf profit in it.

i sent you a PM about my high mile '94 second gen.
you wrote me back and said you wanted an extended cab with fewer miles....

if the decision were mine, i wouldn't buy a first gen regular cab,
no matter how cheap..... i've now owned one of each 1st, 2nd, and 3rd..

my '94 for $2000.00 is a better buy. even though it needs the front-end rebuilt.....

how much are you thinking about spending?

Sounds pretty darn good to me, I'd jump on it.
