Default Looking for a 12mm ve pump

Hi. I have some crazy notions about putting the 12mm pump on 6 cylinder mercedes diesels. This should be good for a 30% increase in fuel volume. Anyone want to sell me one

You should post your Want-Ads and For Sale stuff in the forum classifieds.

I moved this to the correct section for you... We do have a want to buy section if you are interested in that. This would be a great place to discuss your idea.

The reverse would work for the Dodges as well. Such as a 10mm Volvo PE inline pump or the like.... The injection stroke on the PE pumps is like 8 10 or 12mm so 10mm dia sounds small but is ALOT of fuel. If anyone is interested in doing the opposite on a Cummins hit me up.

In order to do this I basically need everything from #5 to the left. How does the VE pump handle timing advance?

What engine are you referring to? The OM603/606 six-cylinder engines use M-pumps. You can get 15-20% more fuel by just maxing out the stock pump. Swapping to 6mm elements will increase max fuel by about 50%. The Finns are getting 200% more fuel with 7mm elements and internal mods. The engine wouldn't be even remotely useable with 12mm elements; probably never get it to idle...

Dave you must have posted this response before looking at the POSTER .

No I am talking about the VE pump. The sprinter used them. It seems quite possible to get it all done if you have the part but getting the sprinter part that interfaces with the the engine is not so easy to get my hands on. The ultimate killer is the RPM limit

Oh, hey Winmutt! Welcome.

RPM limit aside, what in the world would you gain by this compared to a modified M pump? You'd need to fabricate custom metal fuel lines too, equal length, etc. Looks like a nightmare with near zero (or possibly negative) ROI, to me...

Stock volume is 760mm3.
The 7mm elements that get these engines is 1231mm3, 60% more.
12mm would be 3620mm3, or 476% more. Ignoring the fact they wouldn't physically fit in the pump.
