Default My brother rolled his powerstroke

Ok so this morning he was headed to get some mc donalds for breakfast and one tire went in the ditch and somehow it flipped the truck on the roof. Cab is completly junk, but question is it sat upside down for a half hour and oil came out of air filter, so is the engine junk or what?

if the engine was not running while it was upside down then i will say its ok.
but if the engine was running while the truck was upside down, then most likely is junk

6.0s will not run without oil////trust me// it is a good design, the high pressure oil pump is what gives the injectors pressure, once that sump is low the engine will shut down..

The way I know this I had my bypass filter/that some else tightened/ loosened up and spun off. I dumped 4 gallons of oil in about 100 yards on the road just as I was taking off from a traffic light by my house, luckily it was late at night, had to call 911 so they could put some oil dry down, amazing when you see how little the orfice is in the bypass restrictor.

Oh yeah, I bet that was the most expensive breakfast he has ever had, that sucks, hopefully he is allrite.

Same goes for the 7.3 bud. Like you said, the oil is what fires the injectors, so when the oil gets too low it wont even throw in fuel.

Shouldn't be junk, we've had equipment at work upside down till we could right it and it wasn't junk.

It should be alright. Just pull the glow plugs and suck the oil out of the cylinders so it doesnt hydrolock when you try to start it.
