Default 94 trans issues

i was driving about 30 miles the other day with a plow on and a full load of salt in the hopper [about 2500 lbs] the truck was performing just fine when i noticed the trans temp light came on. I took it out of over drive thinking the truck was laboring to hard with a load on, the light didnt go out. the next morning [18 degrees] the trans temp light is still on and now i have no overdrive????....the trans temp light goes out intermitently but i have never gotten it to go back into over drive....after a few days of driving like this i seem to have the torque converter looking up again in 3rd gear but not all the time. this is a 47 RH trans 4x4 12 valve cab and chasis [the best we can figure]....any body have any ideas...i really am not prepared to drop a suncoast or gorend in her yet ....as much as id like to ....

thank you

well today my mechanic told me to unhook the batteries and touch the posative and negative cables together.........this is suppose to reset the PCM.............no change, i called NAPA and ordered the temp sensor and filter for the transmission, we'll change it out and do a service on saturday and see what happens ..........snow coming tomorrow night ..........if the PCM is bad thats gonna suck, i found a salvage one in Tennessee for 200 bucks but i dont feel good about used electronics at that price.... but a new one from Dodge is 600.......does it never end........if anyone has a 94 PCM sitting on the shelf for sale let me know...

we found the sensor broken completely, the plug was just spinning on the sensor - basically like being unplugged.

we did a filter and fluid change and i went back with synthetic AT4 and a quart of Lucas extreme service treatment......she shifts better and were it should now, it used to shift right up to 3rd gear by 30 mph. now i can drive comfortably at 45 in 3rd and she nots screaming along. overdrive is back and kicks in at about 52-55 mph and drops the rpms to a little above 1500....MUCH better than 2250rpm for 52 mph

did an oil change and cleaned the cold air filter ...i painted the valve cover plate as well and it came out sweet......pics on my phone though

its like a bought a new truck thanks for the tips people

good deal streetrod......surprisingly the sensor was very cheap....NAPA 26.00.....and from a transmission system that is usually holy crap expensive that was a VERY welcome repair
