Default limped then wouldnt move..

took off in my 01 duramax today, and it instantly trans limped for some reason,...
just did spin on 2 days ago.
pulled over and shut the truck off to let it reset. then it wouldn't move in any gear.... the gear indicator would just flash on each gear..
only way i got it goin again was disconnecting batteries.
took off fine after that and a mile down the road the codes turned themselves off???
went on a 100 mile round trip right after and had no problems..
and ideas?
neutral safety?

what kind of spin-on filter did you use?

Did you do an internal as well?

Possible - incorrect filter used for the spin-on. Possible - internal filter not properly installed or fell out a little. ( i know you just mentioned spin-on but figured this would help as well)

Hows the fluid level ?

from the code, ur orbbaly have dirt or contaminants in the trans causing a stuck valve, but wont know yet.

x2 on fluid level

no did not do the internal..
spin on was a champion Labs.
went on perfect, no leaks anywhere.

fluid level looks fine...
think i should drain it and do an internal now also?
