Default Trans -go shift kit?

Is it worth the hassle of doing it or better to just buy a vave body?

IMA buy a valvebody made by a reputable shop like Goerend!! The kit is cheaper but does it cover line pressure full lube even in park and if you do something wrong will they replace it? The valve body? But if you want to try I have a stock spare complete 160. delivered!

I'm sure Geoerend has his own little tweaks, but there is only so much you can do. I know he has a setup where you can lock the convertor in manual 2nd, as bought the parts from him to put in my valve body.

trans go has a full line of **** kits avaliable depending on what you want to achieve
yes they do cover line pressure they do cover full lube and it updates valves springs ect it gives you step by step instructions on how and what to do
if you have mech. knoweledge then go for if not a vb is fine to or have a tranny shop install the shift kit

If you put a TransGo late model shift kit in an 05 the TC will auto lock in manual 1st and manual 2nd, sooner with a lockup switch. Add a billet input and you shift locked to locked with relative safety.

It raise line pressures to where you want them, select by PR spring tension.

It has a fix for circulation in park.

It has a fix for firmer TC lockup, DO NOT do that or it will be too hard.

It has a fix for later shifts if needed, DO NOT do that one either as these things shift too late anyway.

You can add the Sonnax PR valve for better control and operation and its fine.

If you care to figure out how to divorce shifting from the TC lockup it can be done.

It also contains new reaction rings for the direct drum to cure leaks and possible excessive wear under higher pressures. While you don NEED them immediately, its a good idea at some point to put them in.

The thing about building yours is it will be the correct VB for the truck. Swapping in just a VB may get you a 47RE unit that will work but maybe not correctly all the time.

Trans go has a very good product, however for the time invested and the mess, I just install at VB from a reputable source. We use HTS for all of our VB needs. Even in the transmissions we build in house we use HTS valve bodies. I just love the way they shift and in 40 or 50 units we have installed them in, I think I have had maybe 2 that weren't quite right. reasonable in my book.
