Sounds like a dead controller. But to check the relay, run a jumper to one of the small terminals. If it clicks, relay is good, controller is shot. If it doesn't, relay is bad. If the controller is bad can either replace the controller, or run a momentary switch. Controller is a temp sensor to tell the relay to kick in, if coolant temp isn't sufficient enough. Mind if I ask what year truck?
