94 Powerstroke knocking noise.

94 Powerstroke knocking noise.

I have a 94 f350 cclb 4x4 zf5 Powerstroke and recently it started making a knocking sound, but it also sounds like a exhaust leak, but I can’t find anything. I recently purchased a set of baby swamp injectors and got them put in by a shop near me. The trucks running fine, that I know of, but has the slight knocking sound when I accelerate. It doesn’t do it at idle or if you rev it up. It’s only under a load.

Were those injectors remanufactured units? How is your oil pressure? How many miles on your engine?

220k and I think they were, but it’s still running fine and I found the problem. The uppipes have small pinholes in them. Does anyone recommend aftermarket uppipes that aren’t $1000?

Well, that's unusual...….never heard of that happening. Glad you found the problem. That's always a relief. Sorry but I have no information for you regarding up pipes. Im sure someone will chime in.

Try RockAuto, I bought a set of cat's for my daughters Ford Explorer, they were half the price of what AutoZone wanted, look like they were Chinese made, but should last long enough for her to get rid of the piece of crap. The old ones were stopped up so bad it quit running. (Clogged injectors making it run rich). (Yeah, her husband doesn't maintain anything, and drives his vehicles into the ground)
