this topic came up on another board so i thought i would ask the smart guys and gals here

I have only had my truck for about 6 months and have never been in another powerstroke. I have read that powerstorkes normally make noises (knocking, pinging, etc) but with nothing to compare mine to...how much noise should it make? how much is too much and should start me to worrying?

i have tried to listen to videos on youtube to compare noises but it's hard to tell that way.

 

all diesels make those noise nothing to worry about I did the same thing. If it runs strong no worrys then

 

I would like to believe that and never have to worry!!! but is there anything i should be listening for that could indicate a problem. e.g. sounds at idle, different rpm, cold , hot, under powers coasting....anything?
