Default AC issues..?

Hey all,

2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie SLT 4X4 5.9L
(250k miles)

So, my blower motor resistor keeps burning up and cracking every 3 or 4 months. Which means - my blower motor needs replacing I'd guess?

Another thing, even when the vent is switched to off, air is always blowing through. And the AC doesn't stay cold for more than a few days, even after I did a freon recharge.

So - does the whole compressor & blower motor need replaced ya think?

Thanks.

Sounds like you may have a leak in the freon system, also sounds like the "Blend Door or Flap" inside the HVAC is broken or possibly a vacuum hose is worn out or leaking. I'm having similar issues, guess It's just the nature of a Dodge. The local Dodge Dealer quoted me $124.00 to inspect and tell me what the fix will be.

Default HVAC Blower Motor

I got tired of messing with the no blower motor issue and wired around it and installed a heavy-duty toggle switch with twelve gauge AWG wire. Only have high speed but it works great.

Make darn sure your "fix" doesn't over heat and start an electrical fire. I'm sure the toggle switch is gonna get plenty hot.........
