Ok, so I have just replaced the HPOP on my 97 7.3 stroker. I have all redone injectors as well and lastly had to change the CPS (I used the Ford one). Now truck runs ok but when I give it gas and jump on it, it misfires sometimes once, sometimes three or four times before revving up. Any ideas? Did not do this until we changed out the CPS but the old one (black original) was fried. It also throws a CEL code after about 10 minutes which goes away after cycling the key switch only to come back after another ten minutes....

 

How long ago did you do the hpop and injectors?

 

they were changed two days ago...

The injectors rebuilds were about two weeks ago and drove it like I stole it for about 100 miles....that is when the HPOP went. Had the injectors flow tested today and they were all good holding nearly 3500 PSI without leaking...

also, it does not miss unless you tromp it, if you accelerate slowly, no miss....

 

Unbelieveable.....after putting in two CPS sensors from Ford, I went back to my original black one an the truck now runs great....go figure.
