Default 1995 powerstroke. Turbo?

I have a 1995 powerstroke that I recently bought for a first truck. When I start it, it makes a loud notice comin out of the exhaust. Kinda sounds like the turbo wheel is hitting the housing. Could this be a bad sensor or bad baring in the turbo. Another thing is I just reloaded the transmission and while driving I never feel it shift and the rpms never change. I'm I dealing with a two stage torque converter or a bad tc. Any help is appreciated!!

Yeah it comes in a few seconds after I start it. It sticks around until I rev it up a little then it goes away but if I hold it there it will come back. Kinda sounds like a jet engine.

That's what I had read. I didn't know if it was a big help or just rather pointless. I don't like the sound it makes so I kinda want to just unplug the sensor. But I don't know whats best for it. Do you have any idea what the tranny is doing.

if it comes on and then goes off its fine, but it will not hurt anything to unplug it.

not sure about the trans, does it shift hard or what?
