Default 2001 7.3 performance questions

Hi i have a 2001 7.3 powerstroke and was wondering how a stock trans with a after market torque converter will last with a TS 4 bank 6 position chip(Stock, High Idle, 50 hp, 75 hp, 100 hp and 140+ Extreme mode), 4 inch mbrp exhaust, wicked wheel, and a aFe magnum force p5r stage 2 intake. I plan on getting the trans built before 40k miles on this setup but wanted to know if it would last with these items on it until i can get funds for the trans i know most would say to get the transmission first but i ended up getting all of this new from a shop that closed down because they just got out of the business. I dont beat my rig all the time and if i get on it im usually rolling 40+ mph thanks!

I have the same chip, and have been fine. I had to get the tranny rebuilt at 118K but it was due to the previous owner. Add a shift kit and put in a larger trans cooler and it will help. I pull a 34' fifth wheel with it and it works great.

Keep your chip setting in the lower performance mode until you rebuild your trans. In the upper or extreme setting you will cook your trans in short order......guaranteed. I know the temtation is always there, especially with "go fast goodies." Been there-done that. Trannys can be quite pricey.............especially when youre not ready for it. Throttle moderation is key until you "bullet proof" your trans and other components prone to failure. After that "Burn the tires off it and drive it like ya stole it!!!!"

It really depends truck from truck and how you drive... You could have a trans under you that will take the abuse or you could have it break down on you a few short miles after adding it... It really depends...

Thanks for the fast feedback everyone, like Bigg Redd said i guess ill keep it turned down till i can get a better trans underneath her, i am worried about the one in it a little as the truck pulled a i believe 30ft covered trailer mow rig since it was new, i had bought it off the company my dad works for had 100k on the money and a brandnew turbo.

I run mine all the time in the 140hp setting and drop it down to the 75 hp for towing and have no problems.
